Life During COVID – Student Photojournalism
May 31, 2020
Welcome to the “Life During COVID” Photojournalism page. The assignment was simply to document – in photos and words – what each two-week period during this closure was like for the student. The student could be as factual or as creative as they wished, and you’ll see some range. The core, of course, is just hearing their voice and their reflections and observations. They were deep and light-hearted. And bored. At times. And there are lots of satisfying and surprising photos. Beautiful stuff, funny stuff, story-telling stuff.
I don’t normally have/give the time for photojournalism. My bad. They’re kind of natural journalists these days aren’t they (with the cell phones you parents provide)? And I suppose I must credit social media for helping them with creating compositions that are informative.
I’m going to close by recommending that you look at all of them. To get a sense of community you’ve got to hear the voices, yes? (And Episode #416 on Netflix will still be there when you get back.)
Our thanks to the students who were willing to publish their stories.
