“I feel like creating art such as drawing and paintings, brings joy, releases stress, and just puts you in a zone where you can’t be bothered.”

Angel Ruiz, Junior Artist

Hello there ! My name is Angel Ruiz. I am 17 years old , going to be a senior next year. Some of my hobbies are listening to music, going ok bike rides, and taking late night drives. I have an older step brother, who also took an Art class in high school, and let me tell you that his drawings are incredible. He has a lot of different 1 and 2 point perspective drawings that I instantly fell in love with, which is why I love to create 1 and 2 point perspective drawings. He motivated me to take Art this year, and his drawings inspired me enough to recreate them. I feel like creating art such as drawing and painting, brings joy, releases stress, and just puts you in a zone where you can’t be bothered. Which is why I think art is important to our society. Especially right now, with all the chaos happening around the world, like the pandemic. Whenever I produce art, I put on some music and just forget about my problems and homework from other classes. It’s something I loved doing this year. My favorite kind of Art is definitely creating and sketching 1 and 2 point perspective drawings. But next year I want to change it up a bit. My plan for next year, is to take a painting class so that I could learn how to paint in different ways. Art taught me how to be more organized and creative. I’m more of a city kid. I love going downtown LA, San Diego, Santa Barbara, etc. I love looking at the tall skyscrapers, and the very long bridges. I feel like with 1 and 2 point perspective drawings, I can sketch out many cities and get some enjoyment out of it. So therefore, 1 and 2 point perspectives are my favorite and help illustrate my love for cities.
